Steve is a Principal at Integrated BioTech Solutions, LLC. He created the company to provide their quality, regulatory, compliance and supply chain expertise to biotech companies in need of services.
Previously, Steve was the Director of Manufacturing for Encysive Pharmaceuticals in Houston. At Encysive, he established and managed the supply chain of the company in the production and distribution of a new small molecule drug, Thelin. Thelin was been approved in Europe, Canada and Australia, and was awaiting approval in the US. Steve was heavily involved in the product development, supply chain, regulatory preparation and compliance inspection areas during the product review process.
Prior to Encysive, Steve was with Cambrex Corporation in Charles City, Iowa as the Site Manager and Vice President of Operations. During his time in Iowa, he was responsible for all R&D, clinical and commercial supply activities, as well as all plant support functions. He focused the plant on customer service, cost reduction, and safety.
Steve spent the first portion of his career at Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago, Illinois. He worked in most of the company divisions, including diagnostics, nutritionals, pharmaceuticals, API manufacture and plant and project engineering. Steve managed Abbott’s API chemical pilot plant operations and full scale commercial operations. He has served as the Director of Quality Assurance/Quality Control for Abbott’s North Chicago Fermentation Operations. He was also Plant Engineering and Validation Manager in an aseptic and liquid fill/finish plant.
Steve earned his Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Michigan, and his MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. |
